Museum Futurists
CFM extends its reach to the whole museum field by building concentric rings of engagement, starting with individuals who volunteer to be “museum futurists.” In signing up to be museum futurists, people make commitments to use their professional involvement and their influence with peers to promulgate the work accomplished through CFM and share their own discoveries with the field. Museum Futurists help CFM create and test innovations in museum practice, expand the horizon of museum planning, acquire and use information about trends, exercise leadership in the museum field to provoke discussion and build connections to innovative thinkers in all sectors.
Museum Futurists join one of three cadres:

Museum Futurists join one of three cadres:
The Next Wave: museum studies students or museum professionals who have been in the field ten years or less. Young members of the profession have a vested interest in the long-term health of museums and in shaping their evolution.
Visionary Leaders: bold, entrepreneurial directors and mid-career to senior staff willing to embrace new ideas, take risks, question assumptions and experiment with how best to accomplish their work.
Influential Advisors : independent museum professionals, members of consulting firms, museum studies faculty and field services providers who help museums with institutional planning. Through their work, influential advisors play an important role in shaping the knowledge, behavior and attitudes of museum leaders.
